This multi-day journey begins with a steady climb through quiet beech forest before emerging into wide tussock basins and the first views of Mt Titiroa’s pale granite slopes. As you gain elevation, the terrain opens into broad alpine ridgelines and high country, offering big views and a strong sense of adventure.
Your guide leads the way through rugged alpine terrain with panoramic vistas stretching across Fiordland National Park — from Lake Manapouri to the Takitimu Mountains. Nights are spent at a simple backcountry hut or camp, giving you time to rest and take in the stillness of the mountains.
The ascent toward the upper slopes of Mt Titiroa follows rolling granite contours and open ridgelines. Reaching the higher plateau rewards you with sweeping views over Fiordland’s valleys, lakes, and dramatic mountain systems. After exploring the upper terrain, you return to camp and descend the following day, completing a challenging, rewarding, and memorable alpine journey.
