Day 1: Journey to Welcome Flat Hut

Morning: Start your adventure with a hotel pick-up in Queenstown, embarking on a picturesque drive to the stunning West Coast of New Zealand.
Afternoon: Arrive at the trailhead and begin your trek to Welcome Flat Hut. The 18 km walk takes approximately 7 hours, allowing you to soak in the beauty of the lush West Coast forest as you make your way to your accommodation for the next two nights.

Day 2: Relaxation and Rejuvenation

Full Day: Enjoy a leisurely day at Welcome Flat Hut, where you can indulge in the therapeutic natural hot pools located nearby. Immerse yourself in the warm waters surrounded by nature, perfect for relaxing your muscles after your hike. Savor the meals and refreshments provided, taking time to unwind and appreciate the tranquil environment.

Day 3: Scenic Return to Queenstown

Morning: After a restful night, begin your hike back to the car park, retracing your steps through the captivating scenery. The descent takes approximately 7 hours, providing ample opportunity to absorb the surrounding beauty one last time.
Afternoon: Arrive at the car park and enjoy a scenic drive back to Queenstown, reflecting on the rejuvenating experiences and stunning sights of your adventure at Welcome Flat Hut.

Most meals are provided while you're with us, except for quick lunch on the way in, takeaway snacks/coffee, and dinner on the way back from the track. You’re welcome to organise these separately, and we can recommend local options if needed.

Difficulty Levels

Easy: Relaxing walk on a well-maintained trail, with an elevation gain of no more than 500m.
Moderate: Reasonable fitness required, with some challenging sections.
Advanced: Experienced hikers on technical terrain, with an elevation gain of over 1000m.
Expert: Confident hikers with a high fitness level and off-track trekking experience; multi-day hiking experience required.

Accommodation
Stays in the hut are subject to availability. As an alternative, we offer camping options if the hut is unavailable. Camping gear is available for rental at no additional cost.

Age Requirement

Participants must be 12 years or older to qualify for participation in our trips. This policy ensures that all guests are physically able to safely enjoy the activities and fully engage with the experience.
