A two-day Fiordland journey combining quiet forest, alpine viewpoints, deep valleys, and the world-famous fiord. This trip offers space to move slowly and experience Fiordland from multiple perspectives — on foot, by boat, and optionally from the air.
Depart from Queenstown and travel to Te Anau. Begin with a gentle forest walk on the Kepler Track, moving through ancient beech forest with views across Lake Te Anau. In the afternoon, cross the lake to explore the Te Anau Glowworm Caves, an underground limestone system lit by thousands of tiny glowworms.
Overnight in Te Anau.
On Day 2, follow the Milford Road toward the mountains and begin the walk to Key Summit — a gradual climb to panoramic alpine views of the Humboldt and Darran Ranges. Continue onward to Milford Sound for your nature cruise, gliding beneath sheer granite walls and waterfalls. Wildlife sightings may include seals, dolphins, and penguins.
After your cruise, return to Queenstown by road, or upgrade to a fixed-wing flight or helicopter with alpine landing (weather dependent).
